When Your Spot Is Drawn: A Step-by-Step Prize Claim Guide

The draw just happened and your spot came up. Your heart is racing. Now what? Claiming your prize on BreakAuctions is straightforward, but knowing the process ahead of time means you can act quickly and get your prize faster. Here's every step, from notification to unboxing.

Step 1: The Notification

The moment the provably fair draw completes, two things happen simultaneously. First, a banner appears on the auction page announcing the called spot number. Second, if that spot is yours, you receive an email with the subject line "Your spot was drawn!" along with an in-app notification on your BreakAuctions dashboard.

The email contains the auction name, the product, and a direct link to start your claim. Don't worry if you miss it immediately — the claim window is generous.

Step 2: The Claim Form

Click the claim link (or navigate to your dashboard) and you'll see a claim form. You need to provide:

  • Your full legal name — this must match the name on your account for verification purposes.
  • Shipping address — street address, city, state/province, postal code, and country. Double-check this carefully; address errors are the number one cause of delivery delays.
  • Phone number — used only by the shipping carrier for delivery coordination, never for marketing.

You have 7 days to submit your claim. If life gets in the way and you can't respond, reach out to us through the contact page — we'll work with you.

Step 3: Verification

For prizes valued over $500, we perform a quick identity check. This typically involves confirming your email address and, in some cases, providing a photo ID that matches your account name. This step protects claimants from account takeover fraud — we want to make sure the real spot holder gets the real prize.

Verification usually takes less than 24 hours. For most prizes under $500, this step is skipped entirely and you move straight to shipping.

Step 4: Shipping and Tracking

Once your claim is verified, the product is inspected, packaged securely, and dispatched within 2 business days. You'll receive a tracking number via email, and you can also track your shipment from your account dashboard. Every prize is fully insured during transit.

Domestic deliveries typically arrive in 3-5 business days. International shipments take 7-14 business days depending on customs processing. For a deeper look at our shipping process, read our article on how we ship prizes.

Step 5: Receive and Enjoy

Your prize arrives at your door, fully insured and (for high-value items) requiring a signature. Open it, enjoy it, and if you're feeling generous, share your story on the past drops page.

The entire process is designed to be friction-free. No hidden fees, no "processing charges," no hoops. Your spot was drawn fair and square, and we get the prize to you as fast as possible.
